Time to say goodbye

I've come to the conclusion that I just don't visit DevArt anymore. I have other social media I use (instagram, flickr) and my own blog, page etc. for photos, so it's not needed for me either. I was fine with leaving my gallery out in the open, but a few days ago I noticed that DevArt had completely fucked up the quality of my photos. They were pixelated and horrible, so I just stored my entire gallery for now as they did not represent the quality I had posted.
So yes, thank you for all these years, I'm moving on to different platforms. o7
(If DA manages to revive I might come back, but it's gone downhill for so long that I doubt that'll happen).

A new update for a change.
This year has come and gone pretty much. I hope everyone's had a good year. :3
I've been working a lot in the past few months and I have plans to do some own project quickly before January now, but we'll see how much I'll actually get done. If I manage to find nice fabrics I should be able to get done, and if not, I'll have to try something else. I actually have something quite different planned. It's a project I've wanted to take on for years and I usually think about it during this time of the year, but this is the first time I actually started working on it already. Fingers crossed I'll also manage to finish!
I didn't take any celebratory holiday pictures (again) this year. It gets really hard with my whole family here, so I don't bother. I mostly spent the Christmas re-installing my OS (twice =__
because I got a new HDD as a present. I'm almost done with re-installing everything. Phew. I hope it'll get colder soon and I'll get some outdoor photos at some point. I have some new coats planned for my dolls as well, so maybe they'll even have new clothes... eventually.
Anyways, I'm still alive and planning on making the last doll (/body) purchase of the year soon. o/

1. How long have you been in the hobby?
An interesting day to be doing this meme. I got my first doll exactly 10 years ago (June 22nd 2005). I did start looking into the hobby earlier that year but that's when I officially entered it.
2. How many dolls do you have at home?
Umm... 27-28?? I'm not sure because they don't all have bodies (either they borrow them forever, or I will get them eventually). And I'm selling some of them, so I'm not sure if they're counted in that number. I get mixed up. I also have 2 Dollfie Dreams + 2 azones.
3. What are their names and sculpts?

4. Which doll have you had the longest? How long has it been?
That would be Miy (DOD Mir), she arrived about a month after my first doll on July 26th 2005. So, 10 years next month.
5. Which doll is your favorite?
I don't have one. I love them all, but occasionally some more than the others. Really depends on my mood. But they're all different so I love them for different reasons. It would be easier to say which aren't my favorites, because I'm considering selling them. xD But I go through phases where I do more with some dolls and less with others. And I have some dolls I hardly ever touch but I still love them. I really can't name a favorite.
6. Are you waiting on any dolls now? If yes, which one(s)?
Actually... no. Which is really rare. Ever since last year I've actually had periods where I'm not waiting for a single doll. It's a miracle (or evidence that I'm getting to where I wanna be with my collection).
7. What is your grail doll?
I have my grail dolls. Yami was one, because grey Shiva + 6 hands = perfection. I got her for an amazing deal from the DoA marketplace, because her occasional unavailability and price straight from the company was making her hard to get. Avis was also one, because Narindoll was shady and it was really hard to get her with the exact specs I wanted. Glad Bimong made it possible later on. <3 I also consider Kilbas as a grail, although he wasn't hard to get (as I happened to be watching Soom when they released him). I don't have any new grail dolls, but I do have a grail body (as silly as it sounds): Spiritdoll Proud male body. I can't get it because I don't have a head to go with it. I'd have the character, but the only head that matches him, doesn't fit on that body, which makes me so sad.
8. Did you learn to do something new because of this hobby? (e.g. photography, painting, sewing)
A lot of things. Sewing being the biggest thing because I went and studied it and became a seamstress because of the hobby. But I did also hone my photography skills - I had interest in it before but didn't even own a camera of my own. I also learnt painting face ups and general customizing. I'd have to say that this hobby has completely changed my life.
9. Have you made any friends you might otherwise not have because of this hobby?
Yes, but some of them are gone now; dropped from the hobby and moved onto other things. But there are a lot of people I would've never met if it weren't for the hobby. =u=
10. What are your doll plans for this coming year?
Not much. I'm hoping I'd be able to finish everyone I have home now, maybe bring home a character I miss and look at new molds for my wolf siblings. I'd also like to be able to do some photo stories for a change. I also REALLY should make that photobook I planned to have ready by now, but I got stuck with selecting the photos for it. I have thousands of photos and can only fit like 50 or so in the book. How will I ever choose???

Meaning behind your username: No deep meaning really. My name is Jenna but I wanted to write it with a Y because that's how "J" is pronounced in Finnish. I really really don't like hearing it pronounced the English way with a J because I was called that for two years when I lived in Thailand and went to an English school. My English wasn't good enough to correct anyone when I entered and later it was too late to bring it up, so I just let it go. Nowadays, I can't stand hearing it pronounced wrong, two years was enough. xD My older nick is yenchan, that I still use in some places and it's also pretty self-explanatory, no?
Favorite music: Really varies. I like almost anything except for heavy metal, disco/techno and rap. But mostly I like 'pretty' music. Right now, I'm listening to several Final Fantasy OSTs cause nostalgia, and because my sister linked me to "Final Fantasy 9 goes rock - You're not alone" on youtube. Search it, it's awesome. I also just happened to play that part of the game a few months ago (my favorite game of all time, I couldn't love it more). Nowadays I tend to pick up songs from Anime openings and random ones I come across (or people link to me), but I also go back to old ones when I get bored of the new stuff.
Favorite movie: Uugh... I have so many. It's really hard to say what would be my favorite, but my likes are really varied. For example I like Serenity, Pitch Black, Cabin in the Woods, Easy A, Romeo Must Die, Fearless, Hidalgo, Pirates of the Caribbean (first and third cause Barbossa), X-mens... So anything really from the darker stuff to light romantic comedy. It's not really the genre but the story, dialogue and the acting. Though historical and historical fantasy really appeals to me. And then there are the animated movies like How's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Mulan, Aladding, Atlantis, How to Train Your Dragon, Secret of NIMH... and MANY more.
Favorite TV show: Quite a bit of these too, but not as many as movies. My faves would be Buffy the Vampire Slayer (+Angel), Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, Veronica Mars, Nikita, Desperate Housewives, Grimm, House MD and the first 3-4 seasons of Supernatural. I guess you can tell I like certain kind of lightheartedness and humour in what I watch. :'D Anything that takes itself too seriously is blegh to me (probably why I love Buffy so much).

Stuff to do, stuff to get...

Ho damn, Souldoll, why do u have to mess with my plans. They suddenly shipped my January order (=body for Iria), although it hasn't even been 3 months yet. (And my December order is still processing.) I've been working on clothing commissions and Nion's uniform, because I thought he'd need it first. But nope, I guess Iria needs hers first. I still haven't even settled on the fabrics for her design because I couldn't find anything perfect from the fabric store. Had to go with plan B fabrics. :/ But at least I'll get to try it on the right body right away because every time Souldoll sends a shipping notice, the package is already in the country. I'm just waiting for it to go to customs now so that I can pay the ransom.
...Which is kind of an issue. I have so many things I want to buy, but it seems like all my earlier purchases are arriving roughly at the same time and I'm sure they're all gonna land in customs. Yay for my bank account dying. =__=;;
Also this week is short and I have so much stuff to do (and things arriving). Today is still a holiday so nothing is open and nothing moves in the mail, and on Friday I have to travel up North for a family event. I won't be back until late Saturday (I hope I get back that early). So, there's only 3 days in the week. When the body arrives I need to spend some time sanding, coating and re-stringing it (maybe I'll just put it off until next week?). Oh, damn, and I need to be ordering some airbrush paints too.
Oh, and on top of the sewing stuff, I'm slowly working on a new showcase/bookshelf with my dad. We bought most of the materials last weekend, and ordered the glass doors the weekend before that... I've made calculations and the plans weeks ago also. But soon we'll have to start cutting the boards into pieces, and then I have to get the paints... So much work, but it's going to be so worth it, because it'll be unique and tailored to store my books and a few dolls in the process. (Yet, I have so many dolls that I don't think I can fit them all into shelves even with the new one, ahah. Someone always has to collect dust on my desk.)
Too much to do. I'd love to just play with my dolls but the weather is stupid and my place is a mess (when do I have the time to clean, for real?) and arghh!

I have a Dream of Doll Too hybrid for sale, who'd make a really good first doll for somebody, and I'm selling my dark blue metallic Cuarto's dragon because I just can't afford to keep this many random critters. I've come to the conclusion that I just don't visit DevArt anymore. I have other social media I use (instagram, flickr) and my own blog, page etc. for photos, so it's not needed for me either. I was fine with leaving my gallery out in the open, but a few days ago I noticed that DevArt had completely fucked up the quality of my photos. They were pixelated and horrible, so I just stored my entire gallery for now as they did not represent the quality I had posted.
So yes, thank you for all these years, I'm moving on to different platforms. o7

One year ends...
A new update for a change.
This year has come and gone pretty much. I hope everyone's had a good year. :3
I've been working a lot in the past few months and I have plans to do some own project quickly before January now, but we'll see how much I'll actually get done. If I manage to find nice fabrics I should be able to get done, and if not, I'll have to try something else. I actually have something quite different planned. It's a project I've wanted to take on for years and I usually think about it during this time of the year, but this is the first time I actually started working on it already. Fingers crossed I'll also manage to finish!

Ho damn, Souldoll, why do u have to mess with my plans. They suddenly shipped my January order (=body for Iria), although it hasn't even been 3 months yet. (And my December order is still processing.) I've been working on clothing commissions and Nion's uniform, because I thought he'd need it first. But nope, I guess Iria needs hers first. I still haven't even settled on the fabrics for her design because I couldn't find anything perfect from the fabric store. Had to go with plan B fabrics. :/ But at least I'll get to try it on the right body right away because every time Souldoll sends a shipping notice, the package is already in the country
