The gown is one of my assignments for my clothing history course. Style circa 1870-1880, which also happens to fit right inside the theme of my thesis. (What do you mean I'm obsessed with the Victorian era?) I got talked into doing 2 doll outfits of eras of my choosing instead of drawing 6 designs with certain specifics.

And let me just say this: I will never again sew detailed doll clothes on an industrial sewing machine. Ever. I made the patterns at home, sewed the jacket at school and fixed it a lot home on my home machine. x_x The skirt's mostly done at school, though.

Anyway, although I felt nothing when I finished the outfit yesterday, I started loving it today after I made the headdress (bored at school), and added a bustle pad underneath the skirt -it's not inserted in this photo yet because the light was gone by the time I finished it. :D

Next up is a fifties dress because I have the perfect fabric for it. :D

That is a seriously gorgeous piece of work there.

Lilya is also really cute in that. It looks like she is blushing just a bit. Sweet.

Wow the dress it's perfect. I love it!

I want my future BJD wears victorian clothes but it's difficult find something nice with cute fabrics and cheap. I'm not good sewing, but I think it's the better opotion.
I hope see more of your victorian dress. Good Job!!!

The detailing on the outfit is perfect though, maybe not worth all the time you probably spent, but they certainly look amazing. :)
