I was planning on walking to a certain place for photos but it was so windy that I decided to stay right on our yard afterall. Damn, it was so windy. x_o
I do agree with =karla-chan that at first glance the blurred foreground makes it a bit hard to really notice Avis. But once my eyes adjusted; I think it looks wonderful since it really frames the picture. Not to mention Avis blends in just a bit to much with the background to really notice her, but at the same time it looks really nice. Either way, I think this looks wonderful.
Personally i think there is too much stuff in the way to really notice the girl. I think it is because all around her. I have seen people play with depth of field and when that is in part of the photo i think that can work well if it makes your eyes lead to the main focus on the picture. But i think in this case there is too much in the foreground that is blurry.
